I was using Day One journal app, but when I discovered this one includes a gallery feature for photos and movies, I couldnt resist the switch. I also ilke how thumbnails of journal entries are displayed in Gallery view. Note however that photos do not get embedded in the pages of journal entires. They are attached, so you have to click the attach icon to view them. This approach enables you to add more than photo or video to a journal, and at the seem time it keeps your journals from looking cluttered. Hopefully the developer can add iCloud support at some point. Overall, this is a clean and well design app. Similar to Day One but with added features.
UPDATE:::::::
Oh wow, hold on. After I spent some time using this application, I discovered some serious issues. You cant actually sync database files between computers using Dropbox. You have to manually copy those files from Application Support to the Dropbox folder. I did a symbolic link set in order to sync the database for each of my Mac. It works, but it seems to take a while for the attached photos to update.
Plus, unlike Day One app, Diary has no supporting iOS app. So if you care about all these features, you might hold back on switching to Diary. This app has a lot of promise, but the developer needs to find a way to add iCloud sync, and then later on add an iOS version. iCloud support might help make the syncing smoother between Mac.
Too bad the developers of Day One and Diary cant get together and merge their apps into one. Both have features that each one needs to add to their application.
